Jay and I would like to thank you guys for the AWESOME Wilderness Survival 101 course! You guys really taught a quality, comprehensive intro class in Wilderness Survival … Well worth the time and money!! Thank you so much!
Awesome couple of days. Learned so much from one of the best instructors out there!
I cannot say enough how much of an impact you’ve had on the success of our Ranger programs over the past two years.

Erik, my husband and I attended your Wilderness Survival 101 course on Saturday, and I just wanted to thank you for all of the priceless tips and skills. We had a great time, and we learned more than we ever expected to learn in one afternoon. We’re much more aware already, even at this most basic level. Your class also fueled a greater interest in hiking in general and in basic survival in the elements … Thank you also for founding such a great company. You have no doubt touched the lives of many many people in the most positive way possible — by building confidence and saving lives.
He is exactly the type of individual I wouldn’t hesitate to depend on in a true wilderness emergency.

Your class was great! Not only are you extremely organized making things flow with ease, your passion is contagious and your genuineness palpable … I really appreciate your dedication to establishing the ‘basics,’ no matter how complex, through your obvious broad knowledge base peppered with fun facts … It was fun and you opened a new world to me (I don’t mean to sound dramatic), but sincerely.
The instructors from True North were fantastic. They were highly engaged and worked with us to design the ideal experience for our corporate retreat. They were thoroughly prepared, totally knowledgeable of the area for our hike as well as fire building itself, and super pleasant. We totally enjoyed our time with True North and would hire them again for sure.

Erik was very patient and helpful. We were surprised at how easy it was to learn the basics of geocaching especially having never done it before … The whole experience made for a great “family friendly” event that was not only fun but involved everyone. It would provide a great opportunity for groups looking for a unique team building experience.

Erik was a well-informed and wonderfully patient instructor.
I will sign up for anything that Erik does … He has taught me about things that I didn’t think that I needed to know (I am a competent fire builder – he showed me a whole new way of doing things that has changed my perspective) – life changing in a way.
I started by seeing only squiggly lines on a topo map. I finished with the ability to see 3D terrain on paper … Need I say more?
I like that Erik gave instruction, but also the freedom to figure things out for ourselves.
… Erik is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subject … It is contagious and makes learning fun and easier.
This was a really fun and great experience. I have recommended it to several people already.
Erik was professional, passionate, knowledgeable, and I wanted more.
All courses should have the level of knowledge and instruction skill that we received.
Erik did a great job in teaching both in the classroom and in the field. He was a wealth of knowledge and enthusiastically shares it. Thanks for an excellent experience!
Thanks for imparting your wisdom!
Awesome teacher – Erik has a lot to share and he explains it well … Über organized and looked out for the welfare of the group.
