Lisa Anantarow has had a diverse career focused on service, education, and leadership. With a love for the outdoors and challenging adventure, Lisa provides an added dimension to our mission at True North.

Lisa has had a diverse career focused on service, education, and leadership. She has more than 25 years experience as a teacher in Pittsburgh Public Schools working with children of all ages and backgrounds. She also served as an Officer in the U.S. Army, where she was deployed to Iraq.

Lisa believes that everyone should have access to all of the benefits and opportunities that The Great Outdoors has to offer, no matter one’s background and circumstance. While she is always up for a day on the trail or the river, Lisa especially loves urban exploration where she can investigate abandoned structures and long forgotten places.

    We provide wilderness survival, land navigation, and emergency medicine training for explorers of all experience levels - from novice to professional or military. Every student can acquire the skills and mindset needed to master the outdoors.
